A reinterpretation for the stage of Luis Buñuel's The Exterminating Angel – a 1962 black comedy about a group of people who cannot leave their host's salon after a fancy dinner party. As they fester in the stuffy, cramped space, logic, social conventions, and their sense of security gradually give way to power games, violence, and collective impotence. Known for his daring, politically engaged theatre, Data Tavadze often addresses themes of freedom, oppression, identity, and contemporary society, combining classical texts with new approaches and cutting social commentary.
