Zdjęcie ze spektaklu SUSAN SONTAG

Susan Sontag is an imaginative exploration of the life and work of one of America’s most iconic cultural figures. It presents a potential narrative built around a single secret and its consequences. This is a story about the rift between suppressed private truths and the untainted image of a committed public intellectual – about the longing for openness alongside the need for autonomy, about hidden relationships, and about friends lost to AIDS. What does it mean to see more, to feel more intensely, and to relentlessly pursue uncomfortable questions?

Susan Sontag takes the form of a theatrical photo-story – an album of black-and-white images brought to life by a troupe of actor-reenactors. What fantasies lie beneath these stills from imagined rehearsals, inspired by Sontag’s own visual world?

This performance draws the audience into a whirlwind of personal dilemmas and emotional intensity. It is a vibrant confrontation with what lies deepest – and most difficult to articulate – within us.
