Inspired by the stories of the women described by Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak, the creators set out to explore the lives of their daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Expanding on Kuciel-Frydryszak’s approach, the authors examine how the peasant roots and life stories of grandmothers continue to shape the experiences of their descendants today.

This is a story about untangling difficult family relationships, discovering intimacy and moving beyond ‘multi-generational curses’ – all told with a hefty dose of absurd humour, camp, and fresh, new perspectives – hallmarks of the Piaskowski/Sulima duo.
